I appear to be watching Kaichou Wa Maid-sama again.

-when I say ‘you’ I am referring to the person who wrote the text posts above-
I can’t stand it when people don’t pay attention to Junjou Romantica - They only see it as a story about a guy who gets rapes until he falls in love - but it isn’t like that. IT DOES HAVE FRICKIN’ DEVELOPMENT AND HINTS AND EVERYTHING YOU SAID IT DIDN’T.
And I will prove it to you with this post:
First of all, that kiss scene does not “come out of the blue” - Over the time Misaki is being tutored by Usagi, he starts to develop feelings for him, because he realises that he’s actually a really nice guy, NOT because of what Usagi did to him at the start - Usagi only did that to “tease” Misaki after Misaki said “You’d go for any man, right?” or something along those lines - depending on what sub you had.
I would just like to make it clear that IT IS NOT A RAPE SCENE - Rape means for a penis to either penetrate a mouth, vagina or anus, OR ANY OTHER GOD DAMN HOLE YOU CAN THINK OF, without consent from the victim. It may be an act of sexual harassment as Misaki does show resistance to Usagi touching him at first but after getting into it, he does let it continue… Usagi even says something along the lines of “If you don’t like it, just say ‘no’…” and Misaki can’t bring himself to do so!
The main plot of Junjou Romantica is for Misaki to realise who and what he is - He is constantly doubting his sexuality through out the whole anime/manga (e.g. saying “I’M NOT A HOMO!”).
Moving on, a couple of months pass (Usagi has managed to get Misaki up a whole grade :-D) and they’re shown looking at Misaki’s recent grades. The subject of Usagi’s feelings towards Takahiro (M’s brother) comes into conversation and after talking about it for a bit Misaki starts to feel a sense of anxiety for Usagi due to Usagi’s having one-sided love for Takahiro, implying that Misaki does not want Usagi to be hurt (foreshadowing teh future lol).
And might I add, although the course of a few months where Usagi is tutoring Misaki are not shown in the anime, it’s clear that Misaki has developed feelings for Usagi…When he gets his final exam results, he’s like this:

However, after realising what he said, he’s starts to questions these feelings as he doesn’t really understand them…THEN he says his one of favourite Junjou Romantica quotes:

This is just one example of when Misaki is doubting himself - by that I mean he is not accepting who or what he is…THE. MAIN. PLOT.
And by the way, there ARE hints of Misaki’s feelings towards Usagi (romantic development). I mean, look how frickin’ self-concious - Usagi’s only ruffling his hair:

And might I ask… WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING WHEN MISAKI ASKED THIS?:

I WAS SCREAMING “BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM, YOU STUPID FACE!” AT MY COMPUTER.
Going back to what you said about the author using the “rape” scene as a defence to Usagi loving Misaki. You’re wrong. Nakamura (author) NEVER refers back to it when Usagi is talking about his feelings - the only time I can think that she does is in S2 E9 (I won’t go into that though as it will ruin, in my opinion, the best episode of the whole JunRom series).
As I said before, that scene was just Usagi teasing Misaki - He didn’t love Misaki then. What made Usagi love Misaki was what comes in the future…I’ll just run through it step by step as I assume, from your criticizing post of this episode, you weren’t paying attention;
1. Misaki gets jealous of Usagi’s love for Takahiro - You can tell here:

and here - THE CAMERA IS FOCUSSING AND ZOOMING IN ON MISAKI FOR A REASON (TO SHOW HIS FRICKIN’ JEALOUS EXPRESSION)

2. Misaki and Usagi meet Takahiro’s wife - Misaki can instantly tell that Takahiro’s ignorance has really hurt Usagi. He gets really upset for Usagi’s sake.
3. Misaki starts blubbering like a baby, and begins to say stuff like this:

This shows that Misaki cares a lot about Usagi as he doesn’t like seeing him hurt. Even if Usagi doesn’t show it, Misaki can see his true feelings. Misaki knows Usagi is heart broken and sad - He can’t stand to see the person he loves (not that he really realises he loves Usagi yet) in that kind of pain.
4. Usagi feels touched and is surprised about how someone can be so caring towards him (especially at the age Misaki is - 18). Usagi then and there realises that Misaki is “the one” - I won’t go into massive detail as Usagi explains his feelings in episode 2 in more detail.
You say how there’s no hinting or building, yet I saw it as clear as day, even now when I haven’t watched the series in a couple of months. I can only assume you didn’t pay attention.I would really appreciate it if you would as you actually get the whole story instead of just the outline.
Anyway. I hope that made things clear (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ALREADING FRICKIN’ CLEAR AS DAYLIGHT). If you, the person who wrote the post, didn’t expect someone to blow up over this, then you shouldn’t have put the Junjou Romantica tag in your post :3
If you want a cute, romantic show that happens to be with a gay couple go watch Sekaiichi Hatsukoi - It’s by the same people as Junjou Romantica but I have admit, it does have a cuter story c:
Now please. Don’t be so god damn criticizing on my favourite (first) yaoi anime :’D. I know you are entitled to your own opinion but seriously now…Junjou Romantica is not nearly as bad as you made it out to be!
